Are the devices rented by Plug new?
Plug’s rental devices are either brand new or fully refurbished and as good as new. During the refurbishment process, we erase all data from the device, thoroughly clean it, and repair any damage. This allows us to rent the device out again and keep it in circulation longer, helping to prevent electronic waste and conserve resources. Learn more.
What happens in case of damage or wear and tear?
We want you to be able to use your rental devices as carefree as if they were your own. We repair minor scratches and normal wear and tear free of charge after the device is returned. We also don’t charge for manufacturer defects.
For more extensive damage, PlugCare covers up to 80% of the repair costs. Add PlugCare when you order, and you’re fully protected.

How do I return a device?
Once your minimum rental period is over, you can return the product free of charge.
Simply reset the device to factory settings and remove all data. This allows us to safely rent the device to the next person. Print the return shipping label and send your device back. As soon as it’s on its way to us, we’ll stop your monthly payments.
You can drop off the package at any drop-off point for the delivery service listed on the return shipping label.
Is there a credit check?
When you order, our algorithm checks your information to ensure you’re a real person. We also perform a brief, automated credit check. This check is recorded in your credit report but does not affect your Schufa score.
If your rental application is declined, you can request a manual review. In this case, a human will assess your creditworthiness.
Can I cancel an order?
As long as we haven’t processed your order, you can cancel it in your Plug account.
This is no longer possible if the order is already on its way to you. Contact our support team to discuss the next steps.
If your order has already been delivered, you can cancel it free of charge within 14 days via our support team. We cannot refund the €4.99 delivery fee. Learn more about our cancellation policy.
If you are renting from PlugBusiness, there is no 14-day cancellation period. However, you can contact our business support and request a device exchange.
